kendrick lamar is still mum in regards to the title, track list, and release date of his highly-anticipated follow-up to 2012’s good kid, m.a.a.d. city, watching the world collectively salivate while he grants the occasional guest verse or interview. his grip on the industry is powerful to say the least, as lamar’s latest (and only) single of 2014 has somehow managed to keep everyone at bay. today lamar shared the music video for “i,” a visual representation that perfectly reflects the positivity oozing from the isley brothers-sampling song. lamar dances through the streets as he raps about overcoming what plagued him throughout good kid, and his state of euphoria as he hangs out of a car window seems to suggest that he’s mentally left behind that particular urban dystopia. check out the video below.
